Tactile Interpretive Elements
Why Tactile Interpretive Elements? Touchable, interactive elements in interpretive signs, exhibits or programs play a crucial role in enhancing visitor experiences. By incorporating touch into learning, these elements provide an immersive and accessible way for visitors to connect with nature and history. Tactile features also ensure inclusion and equal access for visitors who are blind or visually impaired. They add a unique, interactive dimension to exhibits, encouraging visitors to engage more deeply with the material, and fostering a lasting impression and understanding of our natural and cultural heritage.
How We Develop Models: When you share your vision for tactile interpretation, we begin developing models based on the natural and cultural resources you’re interpreting. The modeling process can include detailed research and design to sculpt prototypes by hand, or employing modern 3D scanning and rendering tools. This blend of artistry and technology results in high-quality, engaging tactile elements that bring stories and environments to life.
Casting Tactile Elements: We love bronze for its longevity and classic beauty, which adds a timeless aspect to exhibits. Bronze is ideal for indoor and outdoor settings due to its resistance to weather and corrosion - these elements will outlast all of us. We can also develop bronze tactile elements to include with our interpretive signs.
For projects requiring more budget-friendly options, we can offer alternative materials that maintain quality and detail. We’ll work with you to select materials suitable for the specific needs of your interpretation - whether indoor, outdoor, permanent, or temporary.
The Process: When you complete the form below, we’ll answer your questions, or meet to understand your tactile interpretation needs. With that vision, we’ll begin the process of modeling, casting, and offering plans for installation.
